This is a few weeks old, but Muse came out with a new live DVD last month entitled HAARP. This CD-DVD set includes both a video and audio recording of their sold-out show at Wembley Stadium last year. As has been noted on this blog previously, the whole crew from Nerd Geyser (ugh... just typing that phrase makes me shudder) went to the Madison Square Garden show later that same summer, and needless to say it was punch-a-nun-in-the-face Awesome (with the noted capital "A"). If you have the chance, do yourself a favor and go out and grab this. Its like candy... for the ears.

New Muse Tour DVD Imminent!
Muse, probably the best rock band in the world right now, will be releasing their newest concert tour DVD a week from today, on March 17th. For those of you new to the site, Muse is THE best live act in music currently. Its not often I watch a tour DVD more than once, but I must admit that I've replayed the Absolution Tour DVD that came with Black Holes and Revelations at least a few hundred times. The new disc, titled HAARP, will include both of their landmark shows from Wembley Stadium last June. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to this enough that I just might have to contract a serious illness next Monday and miss work in order to spend a relaxing day with my greatest man-crush: Matthew Bellamy. I'll pour us both a nice cup of coffee and lay out a spread of fine pastries for our romantic day together, feeding his share to him by smashing cookies into the television screen while I giggle playfully. "C'mon, Matt... you're just skin and bones!"The tracklisting for the aforementioned audiogasm follows:
1) Knights of Cydonia... 2) Hysteria... 3) Supermassive Black Hole... 4) Map of the Problematique... 5) Butterflies and Hurricanes... 6) Hoodoo... 7) Apocalypse Please... 8) Feeling Good... 9) Invincible... 10) Starlight... 11) Time is Running Out... 12) New Born... 13) Soldier's Poem... 14) Unintended... 15) Blackout... 16) Plug-In Baby... 17) Stockholm Syndrome... 18) Take A Bow
Yes, there is also an accompanying c.d., much like their previous release Hullaballo, but I am currently choosing to ignore that.. solely because it proves that they did indeed play "Micro Cuts" on the last tour... yet never at a show I was present for! God, I need to move to England.... OR, maybe I'll move England to me. Mwahahaha *begins hatching mad scientist-esque plan for Country relocation... perhaps involving a comically large amount of helicopters and steel cables* Oh, what am I doing? I know that I'll just lose interest about halfway through the project and discard it behind the nearly-completed weather-manipulation machine.
New NIN Album!
Nine Inch Nails has released their sixth full studio album, entitled Ghosts I-IV. This is actually a four-part, nine-track-a-piece set of EP's being released exclusively for online purchase. The first part, Ghosts I, was released on NIN's official website free of charge last week... and summarily crashed the site within the hour. This effort marks another step in frontman Trent Reznor's slow progression away from the commercial recording industry, an institution he has frequently railed against over the course of his career. The most remarkable thing about this release, however, is how closely it follows on the heels of Reznor's 2007 record, Year Zero, which itself was surrounded by substantial viral marketing and advertising. I've yet to hear any of Ghosts, but I've yet to listen to a NIN album I didn't like. Reznor is one of those very few musicians who doesn't seem to produce half-assed work. In my opinion, the 1999 opus The Fragile is still one of the best records ever released. Combine that with the impeccable standard of its brethren, and you have one of the greatest musical acts of our time. So, in conclussion, go buy this album. I don't wanna hear any arguments from you, young man. You will eat all of your vegetables, finish your homework, and immediately listen to your Nine Inch Nails' records or you'll get no dessert.
P.S.: Never assume a girl will understand the romantic undertones of "We're In This Together Now" or "The Fragile" when you put them on a mix c.d. for her. While you might find the lyrics intensely poetic, she will most likely assume you are probably severely disturbed, and possibly violent.
"Smiling in their faces, while filling up the hole.
So many dirty little faces, in your filthy little, worn-out, broken down, see-through soul."

The Drum Solo of Life!
Tyler Freeman, apparently some kind of inventor and/or kid with far too much time on his hands, has invented the greatest thing to hit music since the vocoder. Freeman has developed a pair of pants that have triggers in the front of the thighs so that one might actually play electric drums on their legs. The triggers feed into a small drum machine, which plays the audio in MIDI format. ....
Thank.... Fucking... God. No longer will I be a slave to the acoustic limitations of the fat content of my thighs, nor be forced to abuse my steering wheel with such ferocity as to be likened to a masturbating chipmunk on crank. Although, now I'm going to have to start a pool for when we will see the first douchebag walking down the street whilst desperately attempting to be Neil Peart. Which will appear, outwardly, to any passerby as an extreme, ongoing fit of epilepsy.

Victory Rose
Sigur Ros, an Icelandic juggernaut of haunting atmospheric rock, has re-emerged for the first time since the release of the landmark second album, Takk, to present the trailer for their upcoming movie, Heima, which chronicles their free concert tour across Iceland. "Re-emerged" as in "released something in America". But, to be honest, from one look at their home country in this video, I can see why it has the highest suicide per capita rate in the world. Its fucking beautiful, and I'd actually love to live there. But that doesn't change the fact that I'd inevitably kill myself after about 72 hours. If only from failing to find a way to add lots of missing accents and umlauts from everything I type.
....
If you have a free moment, and are unfamiliar with Sigur Ros, might I suggest you check out: "Njosnavelian" (The Nothing Song); "Glosoli" or "Milano". And might I also suggest to aquire them illegally. Though not by internet piracy.. I mean, ACTUAL piracy. I expect certain timbers to be well shivered.
